Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Security at Dublin Castle

    Have a question for someone who is involved with the guards, or Dublin Castle. Was there recently and noticed that there was no guard there. There was one ' constable' who said he was employed by the board of works. Why then is there guards at leinster house?

    Commissioner of Public Works has responsibility for it. It's like the Phoenix Park. They usually have their own By-Laws.

    I used to work in Dublin Castle, people think it isn't but it's a public place. In summer we were too often serenaded at work by some Spanish student sitting in the upper yard outside the State Apartments and strumming away in a vain attempt to liberate some youngwan's knickers. Occupational hazard.

    Got paid to have a ringside seat at President McAleese's inauguration though, and as a biker myself the highlight was to watch the Blue Huzzars :)

    Scrap the cap!
