The Japanese community in Limerick had a collection in the Milk Market last Saturday and it raised over 1200 euros, which was more than they expected. If a brown-haired girl handed you some origami and you felt obliged to donate, then that was my daughter you were roped in by.

A big thank you to all who donated even a few cents. I've just moved to Tokyo and while the effect on life here in Tokyo is hugely overstated, the effect of the disaster on those in Fukushima and living in shelters is hugely understated - it will make a difference to those who are living in shelters in and around Fukushima.

Last Saturday saw more than E2400 raised at the milk market (and maybe other venues). Fair play to the people of Limerick for giving to this worthy cause.
