Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    A have a relation who is a Accounting Technician and currently sitting their final exams of the CPA qualification. I guess they'd qualify as a part-qualified accountant because they have enough experience through work and they've begun their professional exams to achieve their professional qualification.

    The term accountant is not protected. Anyone can call themselves an accountant, never mind part-qualified.

    If you mean what do other people (i.e. potential employers) consider part qualified then that's really how long is a piece of string.

    ACCA had an un-official rule of having the first 8 exams (might be 9 now) and some experience.

    But it's not defined anywhere.

    Well it really depends on who is using the term, but if you said to me you were a part qualified accountant, the expectation I have it is that you were about half way through the exams and had given up. But then I'm old school....

    Part qual probably means different things in industry and practice. In practice I would think it means being able to bring books up to a certain level and also to be intending to sit further exams.
