Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Has any one else noticed that the theme tune for the news is an octave lower. I noticed it after returning home from a trip recently.
It seems they dont want to tell us any good news and they are trying to depress us even further.

Even more depressing - Anne Doyle presenting without any make up.

Hadn't noticed but aren't they having a complete overhaul of the news in the next couple of weeks. They have been building the new studio according to newspapers since before Xmas.

The new theme tune will be Barber's adagio for strings.

I'd rather have Anne Doyle presenting the News minus the make up, than that deranged looking Sharon Ni Bheoláin with tons of make up (and that silly husky voice of hers).

Has anyone else taken notice of Sharon when she's looking in to the camera whilst the other anchor is speaking? She has a pout on her like she's holding in the biggest dump ever.

It's a recession dont you know?

Should be the quality of the reporting, not how much makeup she is wearing (or not.)

Hadnt noticed the octave lower thing. I'll keep an ear out for it.

The new opening credits for RTE News in a few weeks will be a frail, elderling woman in a shawl (a la Peig) looking over a grey, dull Dublin with a tear in her eye. She turns to the screen and a tear runs down her face. She whispers "recession". The screen fades to black and the RTE News title card appears in silence.
