Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Noise Insulation on New Builds

    Hi,

I've just had a planning application returned needing additional information. They need additional information based on "Objective EE51 of the Fingal Development Plan 2011-2017 requiring the provision of appropriate noise insulation". I have included information regarding insulation for heat retention but does anyone know how to gauge what sound insulation I require. Short of standing out in a field with a Decibel meter I have no idea where to start.

    Thanks

Is this is a Dublin Airport related requirement?
Are you not also caught up in EE52, which if my memory serves me well, requires some sort of specialist report?
Am guessing here but as I live near the flight path I do recall something.

I just add this as Part E on its own might not be enough.

[Mind you if Wild Willie Walsh gets his way we will all be on the ferry again :) ]

I don't see how FCC can enforce the new Part E when they are not required until July 2015. Maybe you can show the sound specification of your build up and offer to increase it and carry out a sound test as per the new regs even though they are not in operation as of yet.
