Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm looking to move from PC to Mac and have my eye on the 15" pro (€2,000 model).

I'll be back in the country a week before Xmas and I'm wondering if it would be better to wait a few weeks until Jan to buy it - or would there be any price drop worth waiting for?

There might be a small reduction around Black Friday but that's about it from Apple. You could hope that somewhere like PC World does a sale but it's unlikely.

Best option is to find someone with student discount and ask them to buy it for you with their ~14% discount.

    I've heard about this before!

So how does it work? Do they just have to be a student in college or university?

What if I need to send it back for a repair or something - will they have to do it on my behalf as it's bought in their name etc?

Yeah, they have to be a student and either buy it in Belfast and show a student card, or buy it online through a university portal so they know they're a student. I'm not sure about bringing stuff back for repair but they might be ok with it.
