Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lovely touch by an emotional Kris Meeke " This one's for Colin".

This is really bad form on the part of Rally Portugal/official WRC organisers.

Breen takes his third win this year in Rally Acores. Great drive all weekend. He is really showing he has got what it takes. Well done to Craig and Scott.

Now the FIA has said he just wanted his mother to come pick him up in his helicopter. What a joke the FIA is. They shouldn't of brought up who he is or what family he is from.

Look at rugby any head injury and your off with the doctor. The FIA need to change that from the top down. I've worked with a couple of motorsport doctors who wrote the FIA medical book a few years ago and they said it was so hard to get it implemented.

Its a really strange situation. Barbosa is sounding like a child though.

If any driver hits his SOS button and requests medical attention it should be provided with no questions asked. If the FIA/WRC Commission feel the driver was not honest in their action and the can prove that bound reasonable doubt then fine them and/or suspend them from FIA sanctioned events.

What I did find a bit odd though was Bertelli and his co-driver split last week a few days after the incident. It could just be a coincidence though.

I can see the reasons from both sides tbh. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Rally Finland kicked off today with the shakedown stage. It proved to provide some drama. Both Breen and Neuville had sizable offs but both cars should start the rally. I always love Rally Finland, I really have to make it over there some year.

Neuville was very lucky. It was a fast off.

Breen had a front left puncture just before a fast right. the tyre came off the ring and the car came off the road.

Ogier had a close call on the same corner as Neuville

Jaysus Mikkelsen had a huge off this morning. Crew are fine thankfully.

Both Meeke and Breen seem to be having some car trouble this morning.

Despite the transmission problem, if Meeke can hang in for the afternoon loop he should be well placed. Both Fords are in trouble with suspension problems, Kubica's alternator's on the way out and only Paddon is comfortable in a Hyundai.

No proper service is certainly making the day interesting.

Breen is out with yet more engine problems. The T16 is excellent when it works but it rally is not that reliable.

There's no small crashes in Finland.

Meeke fastest on SS7 with the car somewhat wayward. I think the onboard of that will be worth every penny of a WRC+ sub.

McKenna gone with a burst rad. His luck is rotten in WRC3.

Also of note are the times Lappi is setting in WRC2. If I was Tommi Makkinen looking to recruit for the future, that's where I'd be looking.

He is really fast alright. A bit like what Ogier was doing in the Fabia S2000.

    Very disappointed for Meeke.
Citroen will not be happy as he was comfortable in 3rd.

Apparently Ogier had a lucky escape at the same corner.

It looks like Ogier was very lucky to get away with it.

Seems that Meeke is under a lot of pressure. Without his win in Argentina you'd have to wonder would he still be in the team. Hopefully he can get more consistent soon..seems like a nice guy.

Mads Ostberg was involved in a recce accident during rally Australia. He has now withdrawn from the event. Really bad luck for him. There's a few questions to be answered too on why it did happen.

Ogier is champion after winning in Australia this morning. He won the championship with three rallys to spare.

Spotted a post a while back about the potential return of the WRC to Ireland. Any further news on this I wonder?

Very unlikely for a WRC round. The money and will isn't there. Places like China are very keen to get on the calendar so it'll mean some more traditional rounds looking at the chop. I can see the Circuit of Ireland remaining in the ERC consistently though.

The driver market should be heating up over the next while. According to the headlines (haven't seen the article yet) in today's Motorsport News, Meeke is looking around. Citroen have said they won't make a decision until December which mightn't be the wisest with Toyota looking to recruit.

Neuville appears be in year 2 of a 3 year deal with Hyundai but I think he may have itchy feet.

VWs preparations for Corsica were ruined by Latvala wrecking the test car, meaning the others won't get in a proper pre-event test. Hopefully that will give the rest an opportunity to close the gap on pace, especially with the event not being on the calendar in a few years.

I think rally GB was in negotiations with welsh government for funding at the time of the Motorsport News article on Ireland.
The article said Ireland may get a round ahead of Wales but that might just have been to put pressure on welsh government.
They have now agreed to support rally GB until 2018.

Well Tour de Corse is proving to be a bit of a mad rally so far. Huge amounts of rain there. Elfyn Evans is leading WRC so far and Craig Breen is leading WRC2.

Breen had his spare gearbox stolen from the service park too
