Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Has anyone had a go at making one of these? Been thinkin about doing one with a small group of students as a project. The framework would be made from half inch red deal or ash. Similar construction methods to a boat hull.....i.e. frames with longitudinal members bent around them. Then possibly cover the whole thing with…

The framework would be made from half inch red deal or ash. Similar construction methods to a boat hull.....i.e. frames with longitudinal members bent around them. Then possibly cover the whole thing with solartex (fabric-type heat shrinkable covering for model planes) or something else.

Maybe use wheelbarrow wheels....pulley system for steering.....

Whole thing would be about 6 and a half feet long.....

You could use the chassis of one of those pedal go-carts that were all over the place for a time. They're usually very well made, especially the Berg ones.
But that might take the fun out of building the steering gear. Why pulleys and not rack & pinion?
