Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My Engine Management light came on this morning flashed for about 30 seconds and went off. Does anybody know why?

Probably not related but When I turn on the engin I get a squealing noise. If I hit the accelerate pad it gets louder but goes away soon after.

Love my panda but not these issues.

Sound like your alternator belt needs tightened or replaced. Wouldn't worry about the the EML unless it persists or there is other problems like a misfire, underpowered etc. Could be related to the belt. If needs be, a scan with a code reader will tell you why the light is flashing.

How much would an alternator belt cost. I'm considering bringing the car for a check up I was quoted 85 fir a checkup oik change and antifreeze. Would he see thw issue?

Also rather then alternator belt could it be the fan belt.

That engine management light can come on for a variety of reasons. The fact that it went out is reassuring as it indicates the car's computer has completed several self check cycles without logging the same code as a permanant fault. But you wil certainly need a code reader to find out what caused it.

Very few cars have belt driven fans these days
