Flat Roof replacement

    Hi all,

    Have a c.18m2 flat roof with 2 large skylights. Both the skylights and roof material need replacement.

    Can anyone recommend:
    1. The best replacement material
    2. A competent reliable flat roofing company (by PM)

    Its difficult to get insurance on a house with flat roofing. Only a very few companies will provide cover and those that will limit the area of flat roofing to a maximum of 20% of the ground floor area.

    Flat roof is only 16% of the total ground area, and had no real trouble getting insurance.

    Firsts thing I'd ask is about the insurance Cover, What is considered a flat roof ? Is it greater than 2%?

    what product will give you the longest guarantee!

    Fibre glass is popular, bitumen is good, single ply is ok,

    what is the guarantee and how do they supervise / govern their installers?

    Nonsense. Plenty if houses with fully flat roofs that are insured.
