Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

DLB will be busy gushing about how he met the queen during the week.

Might open a book on how many times he mentions it, i'm guessing at least 3 :D

He's semi retired. However, he's doing research for a TV documentary series on the history of Irish broadcasting.

He retired from "Questions and Answers" a year ago but he is still doing radio and he is still contributing to some TV programmes, such as this week's coverage of the royal visit and the elections etc.

However on the radio he still does a Sunday morning archive program which is essential listening.

Prefer George Harrison's version to be honest.

That was hardly much of a tribute was it :(

The original De Danann line up was the best. De Danann today are a poor mans/woman's version of The Chieftains.

It was a little short, but I thought the one-to-one format worked well, better than having a panel format where everyone talks over each other.

John Bowman is a class act, as was Garret RIP.

They got a lovely song down on the ground and stamped on it's head.

There's been a lot of coverage on RTE since his death yesterday, so keeping it short but sweet was a good idea IMO!

Yet I expect we're going to have, after weeks of it, even more British royal bull**** on RTE at the expense of a proper tribute to Garrett Fitzgerald.

There will be extensive coverage of his state funeral in the coming days though. Which unlike Haughey, he thoroughly deserves.

If this film has been sitting on the shelf for two years, it's not a great sign.
