Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

for purely surfing the net , would be many used for FB, youtube , and perhaps uploading photo's
would not be downloading games, nor music nor vidoes

which would be the better option , Laptop or Tablet?

If its just for websurfing, facebook and youtube then a tablet would be grand.

Uploading photos though this would be annoying to do on a tablet but definitely possible. With the ipad you'd have to get camera connection kit then upload them to FB or whatever

    Whats your budget like?

Based on what you said you need it for, I'd go with a tablet. They are very handy to pickup and you are nearly instantly on the Internet.

Some Tablets have SD Card readers so you could upload the pictures by putting the memory card from your camera into the Tablet.

You're asking for subjective opinions on apples and oranges. Go into a shop, try a tablet and see how you are getting on with it.

Ye suppose he's right, tablets are great for casual surfing but if going to be messing around for the night, then i crack open the laptop.

You can get a decent laptop for the price of a good tablet, so dont count it out just yet
