Hi, My niece's TV took a hit during the storm a few nights ago - a power surge ? It gave a bang and blue flash and died :( It now won't turn on - hardly surprising :rolleyes: The PSU board has a component (3 pin -like a regulator) mounted on a heat sink that has suffered damage. The front on the encapsulation was blown out…

The PSU board has a component (3 pin -like a regulator) mounted on a heat sink that has suffered damage. The front on the encapsulation was blown out - the side with the part no. on usually. God only knows what it was now. Tried to trace service data on the web .............. no hope.

What are the chances of a successful repair ?
