Maybe try streaming at a lower quality? Failing that, maybe your wifi strength has dipped, try a speed test on your tablet. If that is the problem reset your router or try changing the wifi channel. Also might be worth resetting the chromecast.

Some of the stuff from SB is really bad, some good, some excellent....

It depends on the source, there is no quality guarantee, after all, it's not Netflix!!

Shows are usually better quality than movies, some movies are just CAMs or low quality DVD rips.

Are you streaming to your TV, or just the tablet??

If just your tablet, use MX Player, and the proper codec, it will prompt.

    Don't use internal player.

If casting go Smart TV or Chromecast, Allcast is very good, use adaptive speed setting.

Bubble uPnP is worth looking at too, lots of options, learning curve!!

This has been wrecking my head for the last week and a bit.
I've been using showbox from my Note 3 and streaming to my chromecast using avia for the last few months and it was the best thing since sliced bread but since just over a week ago it's become unusable, My wifi hasn't deteriorated, I've uninstalled showbox and avia and reinstalled them and I've tried mx player but it just keeps stalling every two minutes.
And it's not even different movies, My daughter had become obsessed with shrek since I started showing her on showbox but now she keeps asking for it and it's unwatchable. Sometimes it's even taking 5 minutes for a film or show to open on mx or avia.
    So frustrating.

This doesn't fix your problem but.... I have this (showbox) installed on my nexus 4. I streamed Shrek on it using mx player & it played, no problems. I left it on for around 15 minutes & there was no stuttering or buffering. I was using wifi at home. It took the usual amount of time to start playing which for me is 20 seconds or so.

    Who said that??

You never answered any questions people asked of you to try to help.

How are you using this app??

Streaming to TV or on your tablet??

What software are you using if streaming to TV?

Is it a Smart TV, Roku, Chromecast or EzCast??

Are you mirroring your screen, as in Miracast

What player are you using if playing on Tablet??

    okiedokie, thanks!!!

So, you are using the show box internal player, it is checked(ticked) by default in the app, or the default Samsung video player??

    show_box.jpg

If you install, MX Player for example, you should be presented with something like this when you click "Watch Now":

    show_box_2.jpg

[well, I have a lot of Apps, so choose MX, hopefully your list will be shorter]

You will need to download MX, I gave a link earlier.

Justb to say, MX is my choice, you may fin a better player, there are many.

For the first time today, I had loads of problems streaming to my chromecast from showbox. It's normally perfect. Weirder still, it played great for 15 minutes or so before the freezing started. Only getting few seconds play before another freeze. Tried with avia and allcast, same problem. On medium setting which has never caused a problem. So just watched rest of film with m**ie droid, which worked fine.

Only downside was film I was watching was the Pirate Fairy, requested by my sick, so kept at home, daughter (honest)

Dice Player works for me. Good all round player.
IF you're still getting freezing after trying these other players, try stream something that has a good source, like Big Bang Theory. That works fine with me. Although I'm on UPC with 100mb download.

Steaming off Showbox never really worked for me.
You really need to download first and then play.

I must just be lucky so, I rarely have a problem, after the initial loading phase, casting to my LG Smart TV, via AllCast or Bubble uPnP.

This is mostly Shows, as I find movies are generally bad quality, IMO.

I have just finished watching True Dective S1.....mostly High Quality.....really good, recommend.

My broadband is just 4Mb DSL, over copper, Vodafone.

On my Tablet (Nexus 7) and phone (Moto g) I have not found better than MX player.

There is also Videomix for streaming, BTW.....bit of hit and miss finding good streams, but its good too.

Ya gotta search, it's not on Play ;)

I really don't think you should be discussing pirating content on boards.ie.
You should all know better and there's likely to be bans coming
