Opinions on entry level Marshall

    Hi, I'm primarily an acoustic player but I've recently found a love for playing my electric. My amp is pretty crap, it does a job but I want something better.

    I had planned on saving a few bob and maybe budgeting about €300 in a few months time.

    I was in XMusic the other day and they had an entry level Marshall MG15CFR for €109.

    Hadn't got the funds this week but I could probably pick it up next week.

    Anyone got any advice on whether I should grab it or wait it out?

    Anyone got one?

    I just play at home, no gigging.

    For a few quid more, you can get a much better home practice amp in a Cube http://www.thomann.de/ie/roland_micro_cube_gx.htm

    The Marshall MG series are mostly awful.

    This is the truth. The MG series are terrible. Save up your sheckles.

    I was also looking at a Cube 20GX down there, can't remember but I think it was about €190. Seemed to be some pretty cool effects built in.

    You'd recommend?

    Yup, cracking home amps. Go relatively loud too, although you won't jam with a drummer with the micro cube.

    Highly recommend the cube
    Ive had a Microcube for years & I still think it sounds great.
    Also The fender mustang is a great little amp but a little bit more complicated
    but for plug & play the cube is great. It also has an acoustic preset !
