Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Typical pre-season type of game against poor opposition.

    Jarvis, Amalfitano played well on their wings, got in some nice crosses.
    Sakho - scored two goals, contender for third striker.
    Zarate showed well but was clutching his groin when subbed off.

    Apart from Tompkins and maybe O'Brien the rest will be used sparingly/not used at all in the Premier League.

    Di Maria went off injured after 29 mins. I think it may have been hamstring.

    Mata will be nailed on if ADM is injured. Should still be on pens too.

    Exactly,that is the main implication of that injury. Could benefit Young too.

    Although I'd not written adm off all together. Plenty of players have a tough first season in the PL, especially in a transitioning team with a new manager. ADM is capable of being a great FPL option if van Gaal accommodates him in the right formation. I hope he comes in at a good price so he could be an option later in season.

    There's some ok 5m 5th mids about. Albrighton should be a good option for one. It's finding a good 4.5 that will be the charm.

    Thats something that usually won't happen immediately aswell. The sort of player you won't know is in the team until hes actually in it.

    I tend to try to take a punt on a 4.5 mid and a 4.0 def as I'll almost never play them. It was Hutton and Albrighton last year, Hutton paid off, Albrighton didn't and Boyd came in on Wildcard. It's late transfer window inter club loans or transfer that will get you those players e.g. Boyd

    Not sure if this is the correct thread for pre-season games, but Sunderland won their first friendly 4-2 vs Darlington tonight. They were 2-0 down, but goals from Giaccherini x 2, Wickham and Graham gave them the win. Mannone saved a penalty.

    Sunderland XI: Pickford (Mannone, 46), Jones (T Robson, 74), van Aanholt (Matthews, 46), Bridcutt (Smith, 74), Brown (Brady, 46), Beadling, Giaccherini, Defoe (Wickham, 46), Graham, Cattermole (Buckley, 46), Johnson.

    Sunderland are off to America for their next few games.
