Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Any changes for Maths in proposed new Junior Cycle Student award

    Hi,

    I have an interview Monday and am doing some preparation around possible Maths questions.

    I was looking into the changes for the Junior Cert and can't seem to find anything for Maths. Is it proposed to keep it the same as the new Project Maths curriculum has only recently been implemented and continuous assessment may not be very relevant in the area of Maths?

    Any information would be great as I cannot find anything.

    Maths will be the last subject to change over to the new JCSA. The proposal is that all subjects will have a continuous assessment/project component which is worth 40% of the grade.

    I would imagine at the moment in interviews you will be asked about how familiar you are with Project Maths. It's still pretty new in the greater scheme of things. Maybe you could be asked your opinion on how maths could be assessed under the new JCSA but seeing as schools don't know very much about it for any subject I can't imagine it'll be all that important for your interview. It's going to be Project Maths for at least another 6-7 years.
