My wife's 00 skoda fabia 1.4 back from being serviced a while and I spotted that the oil on the dip stick is a bit over the max, not loads maybe 1 cm , also the engine management light has come on (this had happened a few times before and was an exhaust gas sensor, chucked in some dipetane and it seemed to clean it then ,but not now...
Will excess oil do damage, will It burn off , should I remove a pint or so ?

Call the garage, bring it back. High oil level can do all sorts,
