Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

30 year old house, v badly plastered initially. Has 2 coats of paint on it, Matt paint as far as I can tell. Iv got two plasterers to look at the job, one said sandblast it all and redo. Second opinion is to scud it with ronafix adhesive and scratch coat over this. Anyone have simular job done? Second option is the least expensive but I'm worried on whether it will last...
    Thanks all
    Mac

whats the rest of the wall construction from inside out.
My concern is that the paint, along with the admixer

will make the wall completley unbreathable and it will retain moisture coming from the inside, depending on structure.
    Why not externally insulate ?

Can you advise on external insulation.
I've recently bought an 1840' house. In good nick but I was advised to consider ext insulation. My surveyor mentioned 'breathability". In that it may cause damp.
Is it possible to externally insulate an old house like mine without causing a prob?Just wondering if it's a no no?

Can you advise on guys for the job- I'm in Tipperary.

Wall is cavity block which is pumped with insulation beads. Internal is plastered. The cost is pushing me away from external insulation aside from the beads already there, I was quoted 100€ Sq metre for external insulation if anyone interested, 2250ft bungalow rough size.
Thanks for replying wasn't aware wall needed to breathe
