Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Water Hardness

    I was just wondering if anyone knows of a website that will tell me what the water hardness level is for my area? Or for the whole county, be region would also do the job. I did a google search using "water hardness ireland" but didn't come up with anything conclusive.

    Never heard of a "water hardness level" for regions etc... I've only ever come across stuff on water quality parameters etc... This document might be worth a read; http://www.epa.ie/downloads/pubs/water/waterqua/WaterQuality0709.pdf

    there is no set hardness for any area , if you are on a mains supply from the council then your local council should have that info from tests carried out at the water treatment plant .
    If your not on mains supply then every well is potentially different hardness so you would need to get a sample tested , i think all you would need is some of those PH strips to tell you how hard it is , but you would need additional tests to tell exactly what type of hardness its present eg calcium or magnesium etc and if its permanent of temporary hardness.
