Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Flying with tools

    Hi all,just wondering has anyone ever flown with hand tools in checked luggage to uk?

    Is it ok to do this or do I need to notify them first?


    The airline is Ryanair ,thanks.

    You shouldn't have a problem, they really only care if you pack explosives or the like .....

    • Blasting caps
    • Detonators and fuses
    • Mines, grenades and other explosive military stores
    • Fireworks and other pyrotechnics
    • Smoke-generating canisters and smoke-generating cartridges
    • Dynamite, gunpowder and plastic explosives

    Check the above list, each airline has it's own specific list of prohibited articles.

    You won't get through security with anything that could conceivably used as a weapon so, for example, a hammer or a screwdriver would be out.

    Also check the weight. Remember its extra for every kg over!!

    Sorry, I misread your first post. :o

    There's no problem if they're in checked luggage.
