Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is the 2008 Volkswagen Passat High 2.0tdi 140BHP front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive?

I thought it was rear-wheel, but the salesman told me it was front-wheel, so I believed him and bought it. After my first morning in snow and ice, I'm not so sure....

    Its definitely front wheel drive.

Look under the back for propshafts. They won't be there.

How can you not be sure lad? Just let up off the clutch with a bit of juice and you'll know straight away.

VW don't make a rear wheeled drive car...

Definitely FWD - I had a 06 version myself for years. I have to say though I had no bother with it in the "bad winter of 2010" either. Get yourself some decent branded (winter optional) tyres if you haven't already and you'll be fine.

Personally I'm hoping for a load of snow cause I want to see how the Quattro in my current A6 will handle it :)

I guess I'll have to park my BMW up for weeks now.
