ASUS Memo 7 HV Tablet any good

Lads,
Considering an ASUS Memo 7 tablet. Has a quad core pocessor 5mp rear camera , front camera seems to have decent specs. I think its not far off the 2012 Nexus 7. Any opinions on these? Seem to be 149 euro plus delivery 10euro on line.

I seen this in pc world today for 199...Lovely 720p screen. I thought it was priced abit to close to the nexus 7 though. However for 149 I would buy it.

Had been looking for a handy tablet for the better half for birthday present around the 150e mark. Doesn't need to do anything fancy bit of web browzing, on line shopping, email, facebook, ereader kind of stuff. This tablet would seem to have decent specs on it probably more than what herself would need but the kids are getting older and they would probably get a bit of use out of it too.

Ordered mine Wednesday night. For the money, its seems to be punching above its weight. Coming from the netherlands unfortunately, so won't have it til next week.

Haven't ordered it yet no particular reason just haven't got around to it. Saw one in Curry's on Wednesday and had a quick play with it 199e in shop it was alongside the new Nexus 7. Wasn't much noticable difference between the two to be honest both seem very nice and quick. Obviousy I didn't open a lot of apps together or had ony high graphic stuff which I presume from specs the Nexus 7 would handle better. However 149e online price for Asus HD 7 I think makes it a good buy. When you get yours post up a quick review.

Saw these in xtra vision the other day for 139 euro.

Saw the one in extra vision also but this while similar is a much lower spec single core V's quad core processor poorer screen etc. The reviews on line of the asus tablet in extravision are poor whereas the asus memo pad HD 7 reviews are generally pretty good.

Gonna head in and have a look at one today. Seems to be the best value tablet around, even though the graphics processing is a bit weedy.

I think this may have been 129 or 139 in PC Curry's or PC world in Jervis SC last Saturday

Good option. It's basically the 2012 Nexus 7 with a few tweaks.

no - thats a different version - that only has a front facing camera

Do not get the ME172, spec is poor especially screen and performance.

The memo 7 looks good for browsing and basic tasks. Seems like a runt for gaming though.
It could barely run the graphics benchmarks in anandtech's review.

Which would you pick between the Asus Memo Pad HD 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (7 inch). Thinking of getting one as a gift for someone for christmas. They are both around the same price but the Asus has quad core while the Samsung has dual core. It would only be used for basic games and such.
