Nothing new except he forgot to mention ITV 1 is not free yet and RTE is pay tv.

They were from me but not entirely accurate as he seems to give the impression that ITV 1 is free now

Don't believe anything you read in the Herald. The pits for lazy journalism, half-baked rumours and worse than all other tabloids for accuracy and credibility.

Agreed, I asked the journo could I have a read before they published but he would not agree to this.

Oh the usual hobby horse. How badly RTE spends the money I give them.

RTE think only people interested in Pay TV will have Satellite
They think it is just like Cable TV
    They think Multichannel = PayTV

Thus by RTE logic it is no problem that you only get them in a Pay TV package on Digital.

I have the Email from them saying all this kind of stuff.

The 2nd major flaw is not mentioning that ITV1& ITV2 are not FTA yet.

I havn't read Herald in a long time. It's a Dublin paper? I recommended it to my daughter when she was flat hunting in Dublin.

Generally "Digital Ireland" issue in the paper I get once a week makes me wince as does the articles posted in Digital Spy from the Guardian from time to time.

Media does not report ANY tech stuff well, never mind Satellite.

And as for "Virus / Worm" reporting on Media I better not start, read http://www.vmyths.com/ for examples of madly unresearched media reporting of technology...
