    Hi there,

I was just wondering if anyone here knows what the story is regarding moving out of home while still on JA? I'm 21 and living with my parents, working part-time, and hoping to move into rented accomodation with my girlfriend before the end of the year. Just curious as to how this will affect my benefits? My means deductions are currently €42. Would I be likely to get that back if I moved out?

Also, what's the deal with claiming for my girlfriend as a dependent adult? She's got her BA, is out of work and is going back for her MA in September. Is she disqualified because of being in full-time education, or is that only the case for the personal JA rate?

    Thanks,
    -Neil

If you move out of your parents, they will reasses you as you will be cohabitant with your girlfriend, the current rate for a qualifed adult aged 20-21 is €100. You say you are working part-time so they will reassess you on that and any other means your girlfriend may have but they will include in the assement your girlfriend as the QA.

Just keep in mind the cost of rent as you may find it difficult to support yourself and partner and pay the rent.
