Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Folks,

Would appreciate any help/advice please :o

    Image attached.

Drain pipe which drains from kitchen sink and washing machine was broken on the outside during recent bad weather. (I think one of the empty bins smashed it).
So have dirty clothes washing water going all over decking. Slippy :pac:

Pipe passes through wall and it was not a clean break (shards missing).
Is it possible to repair or does it need replacement?

    Thanks

Yes its repairable, but with the amount of hassle you may aswell just get it replaced ,it will probably cost about the same

    Ah. It is rented accommodation.
I thought I might do it without bothering the landlord.
    Ballpark price?

    Cheers

I cant say for sure because I cant see the whole set up but I would guess 80 to 100. Does that waste pipe run straight through the wall?

    Yep. Fairly rigid too.

Cut the wastepipe inside get a new straight and two elbow fittings a bit of pipe and a tub of glue from a supplier for 20euro or so. Push out the old pipe replace with new one. Tools needed a hacksaw and a measuring tape. If your anyway handy and you plan it before hacking at stuff you should be grand. If you end up with a gap between pipe and wall a bit of cement mix will fill it.

It looks like its broken flush with the wall if so you can get a new bend on it, just hoke around the pipe carefully, put some pipe glue on the bend and slowly push the fitting on making sure its pointing down, then add the down pipe.

An 1"1/2 swept bend may be the easiest and give a little more room.
