Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

A friend was telling me when he used to buy the gas cylinders the valve is usually sealed with plastic not just a cap, also the bottle fells very light, I weight it there and got about 22kg that's including the bottle I don't know how much a empty bottle weighs. I am asking as my gas heater seems to be eating the gas I seem to be buying a new bottle every two weeks which doesn't seem right, I would have it on about 5 hours daily. I am new to this whole gas heater business so I could be wrong. :p

If you have concerns about it a good place to start would be the retailer and also voice your concerns to the bottlers. Also buy your next one in a different place and compare weights.

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"

Gas is sold by weight, and the tare weight of the cylinder is (usually) stamped on the neck, it has to be somewhere on the cylinder, so checking the quantity of gas in it should be very easy as long as you have a scale that can correctly weigh it.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Only take a bottle from your supplier that has the shrink wrap or security tag undamaged.

We had a supplier a few years ago that used to use the bottles in his shop for a day or two and then sell these on to the unsuspecting older customer.

The issue came to light when a regular user noted how many days he was getting per cylinder and raised it directly with the gas supplier rather than the retail outlet.

Sorry for the late reply, this is how the gas bottle was when I bought it. I can't figure out the weight though. It was under lock and key in a garage.
