Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

^^^ Interesting to see that both the Carrolls and the Flemmings had a grandchild in the house, but assuming the grandkid took the father's name, no sign of the father.

Think the genealogy forum would enjoy this too.
Is it ok to cross post?

LOL that was back in the day when you weren't allowed to fill out your own census form. Nowadays of course, everyone is highly educated and highly skilled, fluent in Irish and often several other languages which they have picked up while on a 2 week package tour...

Is a glass more than a drop, or is one whiskey and the other beer?

Absent fathers may well have been off in India or South Africa; the empire was a big employer in terms of army and navy.
