Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

Perhaps this is a long shot but I'd like to purchase a grille with a "traditonal" or decorative finish to replace an existing grille.

There seem to be lots of brass or nickel grilles avaialble but are there other options?

I have come across sites selling cast iron vents but they are expensive and I'm unsure about the fitting. I should add that I don't think an airbrick is an option.

    Thanks in advance!

I spent a LONG time looking for these and still didn't find anything to match the original air vents/bricks. I hate the plastic ones, but time wasn't on my side to I settled for cast iron replica period vents, but not the nicest of ones. I was also looking for terracotta air bricks, but again, no luck.

If it's a single brick vent you're looking for, you're looking for 9" x 3" in size. Check salvage yards for old ones, but you're more likely to get them as replicas. Mac's Warehouse has a very decorative one (which I don't like), and I ended up getting mine from Wilson's Yard in Northern Ireland. Around €40 each.
