Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Renault Megane initial Idling Problem

    Hi,

I have a Renault Megane 2003 1.4 petrol (the one with the funny bum). Good car, low mileage. Here's the issue: If the engine is cold it starts up no problem.
If the engine is warm and I leave it off for about 10 minutes it cuts out after starting. This doesn't happen if I only leave it for 1/2 minutes...only after about 10 minutes. Also, as soon as the wheels turn about 5 rotations the problem goes away. This means I have to rev it like mad until I get out of the driveway. The car performs perfectly other than that and is doing about 45 MPG.
I have looked this up on google and as a result have changed the coolant temp senor, cleaned out the throttle body and cleaned the TDC sensor. None made any difference at all! Now I'm lost!

    I'd appreciate any suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

    Adam

How did you check the coils?
What did you use to check faultcodes?

I visually inspected them. I also got a mechanic to give me a second opinion. He didnt test them though. would this not be sufficient? There is never a misfire and car perform perfectly after it's moved a few feet. I went round to the mechanins to have it plugged in too. Standard mechanics tool. not the big olde expensive renault one.
