Tullamore Station: Expanded Car Park opens 1st November by Corporate Communications

Iarnród Éireann is set to open the newly expanded car park facility at Tullamore Station on Thursday 1st November.

An investment of €2.1 million sees a dramatic increase in parking spaces at the station, up by 300% from 100 spaces to over 400 spaces upon completion.

This will ensure that there will be sufficient capacity for commuters to park into the future, with ever-growing numbers of commuters travelling from Tullamore.

It is the latest phase in Iarnród Éireann’s investment programme Tullamore and the Galway-Dublin line generally. A new Intercity train fleet will enter service on the Galway-Dublin and Mayo-Dublin routes during 2008, which will also serve Athlone-Dublin commuter services.

From 1st November, to cover costs associated with car park expansion and maintenance, a nominal parking charge of €2 per day, and for the benefit of regular commuters, €5 per week, will apply at Tullamore Station.

Customers can pay for parking through the pay and display machines in the car park.
