Are peat briquettes really smokeless? They are advertised as smokeless at my local shops. My kids who have asthma react badly when my neighbour uses them, but maybe its not the smoke? I don't live in a smokeless zone so I presume that my neighbour can burn what he wants.

peat is classed as low in sulphur and it is the sulphur levels that are used to determine whether a fuel is smokeless or not. they all still give off smoke when burned.
