Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi all, have been issued a 3yr driving ban (dangerous driving about 1 year ago). when the incedent occurred I had a southern licence. I then went and surrendered my southern licence to get a northern/english licence. In the post this morning it says to hand in my licence. Can i just hand in my northern licence?

I doubt the republic has the power or interest to request a different states licence. Regardless your right to drive in the republic would be removed. I would assume so anyway. Maybe some one would clarify the finer point,

    ^ That's it in a nutshell.

There's a good explanation of the process, including an appeals process, here : http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/l_to_o/mutual_recognition_of_driving_disqualification/

If you're still driving about on no matter what licence in the Republic of Ireland you're not only committing the offence of driving while disqualified but also driving without insurance ( if you're disqualified you can't be insured even if you paid your premium ) and getting caught could well see you slopping out for a little while. Also, if you still have insurance or you have renewed your insurance after having been convicted there's a possibibility that offences are being committed there as well .
