    Hi all,
I'm thinking of going to Normandy in the camper (trying to escape this poxy weather) The ferry docks in Cherbourg so does anyone know any good campsites for 2 adults and 2 kids near there ... I've seen a few on websites but I'm looking for recommendations from campers that have been there and done that.
    Thanks in advance :)

you will have to go to l'anse du bric. We have stayed there twice, reall nice site with good swimming pool and restaurant and beach is just across the road. It is about 20 minutes from the ferry. As you are leaving the ferry port keep the sea on your left hand side and you cannot go wrong. Enjoy France

We stayed at "les coques d'or" 50530 Genets last year. A family run site, nice anf friendly, with a little shop, outdoor pool and a kiddies show at the weekends. Down from Cherbourg a bit, in sight of Mont St.Michael. we would go again if in the area. Nigel in Cavan

For the last 4 years we have finished our hols in a campsite called Le Chateau De Les-eaux.

It is the only site that we have made sure we got to on each trip. This year we had great weather there at the end of july. Previous years we had mixed weather but the brilliant indoor pool kept us going and the site is a good location to base yourself for site seeing.

    140km from Cherbourg

We stayed at the Brevedent site last week with two kids (11 + 8) and absolutely loved it. Beautiful site and with friendly staff and a nice bar in the Chateau. It's approx 180km from Cherbourg and we would definitely go back there again.

La Route Blanche near Granville is a very nice Campsite. About 4 miles from Granville and near a village called Donville le bains.
It has all the facilities, pool etc and is about 500 metres from a fantastic beach. Quiet roads for walking or cycling and beside a fantastic golf course if thats of any interest.
No shops in immediate vicinity but basics available at reception.
    One of my favourites anyway.

Stayed here last week for two nights and it was first class. At 61euro/night for 2+2 it was the most expensive site we stayed in. We will probably finish off there again next year.

    Hi
Stayed in les-eaux in may of this year, booked standard site many of which are not great for large campers, more suitable for tents as they are of widely differing shapes and some are quite sloped which meant in the bad weather we had in may the breadboards were in demand to get moving.

Good point, we were steered away from the standard sites on check in. Many of the pitches are sloped as you say.

Have stayed at site below a few times, coming from and going to boat.

Great facilities, great for touring Normandy, helpful staff, highly recommended and only about an hour from Cherbourg
