    Hi All,

Apologies as I'm sure this has been mentioned before.

I'm looking for advice on the best tattoo aftercare products, I've always used Bepanthen and find it good, however I've read some things online where people seem critical of it, apparently labeling too heavy and not allowing skin to breathe?

What are peoples thoughts on this? I've read about tattoo goo etc online and the ingredients sound really good, full of natural oils etc.

I'm looking for a cream to maximize skin healing and help moisturize, and this isn't necessarily for tattoos only, so I'd like to try out some of these specific products, anyone recommend places to buy in Dublin? and or care to offer opinions/reviews on creams?

Johnson's baby lotion. Apply frequently because it's not thick like Bepanthen

That wouldn't really speed up healing though would it? it's more just a moisturizer?

bepanthen heated in a microwave, easier to spread and therefore not as much/as heavy

I dot Bepanthen around the tattoo, then let it sit for about 30 seconds. The heat from my body melts it a little, and then it's super easy to spread on.

I've used Tattoo Goo, Johnsons Baby lotion, coconut oil, stuff from Lush, and Bepanthen is still the best for me. I then use Oilatum for when the skin starts to dry up a little.

I wouldn't put the metal tube in a microwave! :P

I haven't had any trouble using bepanthen for any of my tattoos and then switching to moisturiser afterwards. I'll usually just put the tube on a radiator for a few minutes to melt it a bit so it's easier to apply.

get tin foil spread bepanthan in it , get a cup , fill it with boiling water, and place the tin foil over it and till it melts and thins,

if you put the tube into the cup , the tube will snap and leak , so dont

Bepanthen is good, I'm just wondering if any of these supposedly specialist products are better or are they just marketing?

Hustle Butter, you'll never go back to Bepanthen

Johnsons baby lotion..The hands down best product for healing.Keeps the colours really bright.Nothing is going to heal you better or faster as that's down to your genes. What you are trying to do is not loose colour.Any lanolin based product will pull ink out of a tattoo.Any barrier cream ie bepanthen is in my opinion detrimental to healing.

Use an anti bacterial soap with as hot water as you can stand. Then rinse with cold water. Then Johnsons 3-4 times a day.

Bepanthen is ok but needs warming to apply properly I've used Tattoo Goo before and thought it was pretty good.
