I am trying to set up a wordpress website through web matrix. When i try to launch the index.php file in chrome or ie nothing happens. http://localhost:1073/index.php/wp-admin/install.php thats what i get in the address bar with a blank page below. Anyone know how to sort this out?

I have also tried to add the extensions to the chrome properties for java apps but that wouldnt work either. Any ideas on that either?

No sure what web matrix is. The URL you sent is local URL so you need to have a local server running for it to actually display locally.

If it's Microsoft WebMatrix, I think it's a kind of UNIX emulator or WAMP stack.

It sounds to me like WebMatrix may not be configured fully, but we'd need more information to know. The blank page you're seeing could be for any number of reasons.

Did you get sorted?

Is the index.php trying unsuccessfully to redirect to the install.php?

Does this work? http://localhost:1073/wp-admin/install.php

Yes its microsofts webmatrix. I have downloaded the wordpress files to create a website in wordpress but when i try open the index.php file it just comes up as a blank page.

That is a link to a tutorial of how to launch it but its no help with this problem.

To be honest, I think Webmatrix might be overkill if you're building a non-MS site - I'd go with XAMPP or one of the other WAMP stacks.
