Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi folks, were travelling to a gig in the O2 on tue 26th Oct and driving from Tipp, were leaving the car in the park and ride at the Red Cow and getting the luas into city and vice versa after the gig, can anyone firstly tell me, is the park and ride signposted from the motorway (travelling with a nervous motorway driver!), does the luas stop running from O2 at any particular time, as in should we leave gig at a certain time to get the luas? and does the car park close at any particular time?

    Cheers.

It is signposted fairly well. Im presuming your coming up the N7, so when you go thru newlands cross, stay i the left-hand lane, and before the old red cow, you will see the large white overhead sign pointing to the left. you take that, and then go over a bridge, across the N7 and into the car park.

The last tram is about 12, or half which should be fine unless it turns into another Guns and roses fiasco. And I think the park and ride is 24 hours

Cheers Davy, i appreciate that, yep were coming up the N7, i would say i normally know that road well enough, but what with all the changes, roadworks, detours etc, i wanted to err on the side of caution!

All the works on that stretch are finished (for the moment anyway) so it will be grand. Just stay in the left lane after newlands and you cant go wrong.

This is the bridge you go over to access the P&R. However, you need to be in the left hand lane (not necessarily the separate local access third carriageway) a few hundred metres beforehand.

Not really smartass, as if you want to go to the city centre, you need to be in the other lanes ;)

Next you will be giving out, damn those people sticking in the left, and jumping out into there lane at the last minute :p

For reference, here's the area on a map:

    http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=53.31748&lon=-6.37096&zoom=16&layers=M
Basically coming from the Southwest, you're going to get off the N7 dual carriageway just before it ends at the Red Cow Interchange.

If you're coming up as far as the Red Cow you might find it less hassle to Park at the gig site itself - 900 spaces just opened up right beside the O2. Follow the signs from the N7 into town, get onto the North Quays and follow the river the whole way out.

Tell whoever's driving you to try get the nerves out of the equation beforehand too. Maybe practice between junctions on the N8 and get used to merging etc. Nervousness + rushing to a gig + not knowing where you are can cause accidents.

Which doesn't answer the question asked.

Red Cow to the Point is 40 minutes.

Or just park in the O2. Make sure you arrive early and leave promptly at the end as there can be queues to get out.

Or there is a Parkrite carpark in the IFSC which stays open a bit later for O2 events according to their website.
