Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How does Steam view the sale of "Steam Gifts"?

Noticed on g2play.net under the "Activation Details" of some "Steam Gift" titles
The Store is not responsible for any issues regarding STEAM GIFTS. There is a risk of being banned by STEAM for selling and/or purchasing STEAM GIFTS. Please remember you are doing it at your own risk!
so I'm wondering how Steam views the sale and purchase of Steam Gifts? I like cheap games, but like my Steam account better.

I've never heard of anyone being banned for it.

Also, I've bought from g2play a few times, never had any issues.

Websites like www.steamtrades.com would not exist if it was unfavourable, I imagine it's fine. I've bought stuff with TF2 keys and made trades before. I've bought game keys online too, not a bother.

I imagine where you would have to be careful is on the dodgier sites. If it's a fairly mainstream one I don't think you'll experience difficulties. I believe there is something in TOS regarding the illegality of gift trades/purchases but Valve aren't actively seeking anyone at it - never heard of anyone banned.

I've heard of volume traders having their accounts suspended before but that's about it.

I think they were singled out because they we buying keys in eastern-Europe/Russia and selling them in the west for a mark-up.

It's fine. Just don't buy anything that region locked. Some Russian gift, especially for new games, will be locked. Installing those games, if you even can, will possibly get you banned.

I've traded loads of games on steamtrades with no problems

Ah, G2play is grand, just saw the warning on the Steam Gifts, and thought I'd ask for opinions. Cheers lads and ladies :)

Ya I saw the same warning on fast2play but there're like a sister site of g2play so should be ok I think.
