Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    hi all

i went out this morning to start my 03 citroen berlingo 2ltr hdi and turns her over on and off for 15 minutes or so until the battery run down.

I then charged battery for 5 -6 hours and when fully charged i tried to start the van again but when i try to turn her over there is not a bleep out of her, nothing, the battery is good so not it anyway.

she will start on a run ok

would i have took too much out of the starter the first time churning her over but then again starter was very good before this now not a bleep of of it

    thanks

How do you know the battery is good? It probably isn't, but if it starts with a pull then it's not immobiliser or engine problem.

It is possibly either; a.battery. b.starter. c. air in fuel system. From past experiences with Bingos all are possible. Usual culprit for air in is the fuel filter housing connections and pipes but I'd try a battery first or jump leads - that will show if it's the starter/battery. Off chance could be the ignition switch or starter relay but try the battery first.

well i did try another battery and not a cheep out of it either when i turn the key,
van was fine till i drained the battery that was in the van by cranking it over and over,
i however did see a little smoke coming from starter area when i was finished cranking it over the first time

when i replaced battery again .. its would do nothing when i would turn ignition on, funny thing to happen all of a sudden

They have a tiddly, sh1te starter anyway and it's no big feat to burn one out, I've done it in cold weather with prolonged cranking so maybe the starter is fried-have you tried crossing the contacts on the starter solenoid housing to see if that works, might be a stuck solenoid but probably a starter required so.

ok so you think the starter may be totally burned out and thats why when you turn her over nothing happens, i tried crossing it and its sparks but nothing else
