Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

New Jacket on the Way

After getting her a pink leather jacket that was strictly for indoor use, the missus asked me to sell that and get her the same in black which will be used indoors and out! Woo Hooo. All going well it should arrive this week or early next.
Despite the other attire worn by the lady in these pics, it's actually quite a nice jacket and would go well with a pair of jeans or a nice skirt.

C'mon RB- you can't keep it in!

Yeah eo980, I can imagine the type of 'indoors use' you had in mind for the same thing in Pink! :D

That's such a beautiful coat. Lucky missus (and lucky you)! Can't say I can see it cutting as much of a swath in pink...

Hey, arent you the same person that was only recently calling your GF a Fecking Tight Wench! on another posting???
Fab jacket, should go nicely with all the other leather goods you have recently purchased for her. :D

That's me. Hey I'm not a tight git at all! Quite the opposite actually.

I can see that you are far from tight, just think you should ease up on buying her stuff (having felt the need to call her a "tight wench" in another posting).
How else will she ever learn. Anyway, nice coat, hope she appreciates it! :D

Is your wife a hooker? Because then it might suit.
Maybe a goth hooker. Just my opinion...
I suppose if you're into that scene, which you seem to be...

Personally I think it's pretty horrible though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,983 ✭✭✭✭Hermione*

I couldn't imagine wearing it either tbh. It's not really something I'd like, even in an 'I don't like it on me but it suits other people' type of way.

QFT. And despite saying that it's suitable for outdoors, it's really not; long leather coats are one thing, but this one has a zip the whole way up and really tight arms, so it's seriously impractical (plus it's still way too warm out to wear a leather coat, despite that fact that it's raining all the time!).

eo980, can I ask why you often post up pictures of the (often leather and usually skin-tight) items of clothing that you've bought for her? You clearly know what reaction you're going to get at this stage, so why do it? I'm genuinely asking, cos I don't quite understand it.

Some ace outfits on that site, picking up the following for the missus

I take slight offense at that Pythia, she is neither my wife, nor a hooker.

Look I'll explain it really simply. My girlfriend is neither frigid, nor unadventurous. As I have stated many times and this seems to go unnoticed by some, alot of this stuff is just for fun. My wonderful girlfriend doesn't always wear this stuff out. For the most part she wears normal everyday clothes. She shops in A-Wear, Oasis, Debenhams and more, all the places nice everyday women shop.

Am I the only man in Ireland who enjoy's his partner dressing up for him? I doubt it somehow. I also don't think I'm the only man who enjoy's this kind of clothing on a lady. As much as the ladies post in these threads saying how vile these clothes are and how they wouldn't be caught dead wearing something like that, there are an equal amount of guys posting who really really like this stuff. It's normal, we're guys, get over it.

I don't post here looking for your approval or seeking your negative comments. It's a public forum, so I post because it is the latest thing I've purchased and I'm looking forward to it's imminent arrival. It's a part of my character and as such I choose to post about it. I have no inhibitions in relation to it, so I don't see the problem.

    eo980,

I'm a guy and to be honest your post reads a bit like 'I've got a girlfriend with a bit of a kink and I'm going to show it off', this might not be your intention but its how it comes accross to me anyway!

    I don't post about what I want my gf to wear in the bedroom for two reasons;
    1) Its private
    2) Out of courtesy to the other users - no one cares.

If you pay a subscription fee to boards, then post on the Sex&Sexuality forum where there are threads where your posts will fit right in

Well clearly you read my post in detail, fair play to you. Indeed, some of this is for the bedroom, but the main gripe that some of the female posters have here is that my other half, on occasion wears this clothing when we are heading out somewhere. This seems to stir up some controversy with the ladies as they wouldn't be caught dead in any of the items of clothing and indeed would either hurt or leave their respective boyfriends were they to purchase such items for them to wear.
Have you been following this saga?

Boy this thread has taken a downhill turn. If the man wants to show off what he's bought, then let him. If you don't like it, say so. But to get petty enough to start a witch hunt and claim he's only doing it to demoralise his gf, or to showboat? Take it to the Thunderdome peeps, last time I looked this was the Fashion and Appearance Forum.

For the record eo980, same thing happened to me. I posted a photo of the watch I bought, and got flamed for it ... idiot posters telling me it was either too expensive, or too brash. It's my money, and I'll spend it however I want, ditto for all posters on boards. If I was a Mod, I'd be sternly warning posters in this thread to keep the personal jibes to themselves.

This is possibly because your message comes accross as; I'm getting kinky action

Thats not really appropriate for this forum and this might be whats causing the controversey - whether this was your intention or not (thats how its coming across)! If your point was to find out whether such coats could be worn for 'outdoor use' then there are other, and perhaps more appropriate, ways of doing so.

Ned - you can't post up a pic and not expect a response that you mightn't agree with. If you don't want such responses - then don't post the pic!

edit: slightly misread you there - I agree that the personal jibes are out of order

Thank you ned. As I stated at the very start of this thread, the jacket will be worn out and about and I bought it for herself with her blessing. I really don't see the problem with another fashion purchase. I guess I just should have used a bigger font.

No it wasn't cheap but it was certainly better value and quality than the muck you find in some of the specialist stores in Ireland.

While Eo980 is undoubtedly a grubby individual I think you should all collectively get off his case - that coat is fashion, of a sort.

Pythia in particular should relax a bit, as she'd probably look quite good in that ensemble herself ;)

Wow- this is indeed a magical day, I never thought I'd see the likes of it. I think I have a little lump in my throat........ thanks Magpie!

I don't understand people's animosity towards the coat (and poor eo980 ;) ), either. If it was shorter (waist length) you wouldn't look twice. It's a standard design for a leather jacket elongated with a skirt to make it into a full length coat. It's well fitted for a clean, feminine style, which I think looks great.

Will you post about the fit and the quality of the leather once your girlfriend gets the coat, eo980? I'd love to indulge myself and get a beautiful, high-quality leather coat, but as you say, they're hard to come by in this city.

I will do indeed Leah, it shouldn't be long now.
