Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Labour and Fine Gael lied to the people and were elected on lies. I hope the people remember but by the time the next election comes up they will have had enough time at the trough and also their pockets filled. I detest politicians.

    Gilmore has magically disappeared since election. Was all talk before election and now seemingly he can't or won't do much about anything.

    Burton still the only visible TD, pushing for answers about the guarantees given to Anglo.

    What the fuhk EMI Sherlock is doing is simply beyond belief. I doubt even Haughey woulda had the balls to pull a stunt like that.

    Roisin Shortall is very vocal about banning poor people from drinking alcohol and completely silent on any plans she has for decent medical services for the citizen. (Department of Health with responsibility for Primary Care)

    What's striking is that most Labour TDs have never had a steady job in the private sector before. Career politicians methinks. Detached from the real world and making decisions based on their experience of having a cushy number for so long.

    It's nearly impossible to do it in a system that will have a coalition that vast majority of the time. Obviously Labour said no raise in college fees but Fine Gael didn't afaik, so should the coalition simply break up over that? If that's the case we'll simply be having elections every 3 months.

    Electorate elect government on the basis of false promises.

    Government fail to deliver upon false promises.

    Electorate start bitching when false promises are not delivered and blame the government for making false promises.

    Opposition make false promises at the next election and will win and fail to deliver on false promises made pre election
