Trout fishing in Banagher

    Hi all moving to banagher in offaly next month coarse fishing seems to be the most popular on this area of the shannon, not really into coarse fishing,is it worth while fishing for trout?Or has anyone fished the brosna thats close by to.

    Its worth fishing it in late July into August for Crooneen trout! They average around one and a half pounds, but some nice fish of the three pound mark are caught each year!
    Evening time is your best bet to get a fish or two!
    The odd salmon is caught around this time of the year too, but should be returned, because they are very thin on the ground in this part of the country!
