Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello,

I'm wondering would ye knowledgeable folk know of any other companies in Ireland that
have i.t security teams in place? I know the majority of them are in Dublin e.g
Fidelity, integrity solutions etc. Any outside of dublin that ye know of? I'm looking to get into this area, i have roughly 6 years network admin/support experience. Based in the whest so nothing here :-)

    Cheers

Are you looking for internal IT or consultancy?

Internal IT security is too long to list

    Consultancy:
Big 4 (Deloitte, PWC, EY, KPMG)
    Integrity
    Ward
    Rits
    Espion
Some others that I may be forgetting

Qualcom in Cork have they're own team based here. Buddy works as member of that team. Most of the others here in cork operate Sec from out of the territory nested in USA , basically where ever head office of a firm is , you would tend to see the sec group operate from that location , Chinese or Japanese owned would nest in they're own territory for obvious reasons.

There's also some vendors hanging around, the likes of FireEye/Mandiant would have lots of security specific roles.

Most of the larger financial firms would have security teams. They're usually found in HQ type places, so there won't be many in regional offices. Some multinationals may have security teams outside Dublin, but none spring to mind in the West (couple in Cork e.g. McAfee).

Another route into this would be through IT audit, and you'll sometimes find them in regional offices of the Big 4 accountants in particular.

Think of a company that has a lot of computers and they have one.

What searching have you done yourself?

I work for a very large company and we have a dedicated sec team. I actually work with this sec team occasionally around PCI compliance and such.
I'd say that any large company with web presence have at least a small team to handle sec issues and liaise with various vendors brought in from outside.
