Just messing about on the laptop here, and for the hell of it, put in details for Irish Ferries return to Cherbourg. Very surprised to see it come in at 515 all in, for 2 adults, 1 child and a motorhome over 2.4 metres high. That's leaving Aug 23rd, and back Sept.3rd. lots of availability of all types of cabin as well, so still lots of room, it seems. Is this because its quite late in the season? I had expected the price to be nearer 1300 euro to be honest.

Definitely cheap because its late in the season. Once you're outside of school holidays you'll grab a bargain. We used to get 2 adults 3 children and 6 berth motorhome for under €400 return a few years ago with Celtic link in late May or mid-September.

We have to consider school now though as one in Infants and one due to start in September, but still managed to get 2nd & 3rd week in August for €820 with Celtic Link which isn't bad at all. Mind you we booked in early January- it's gone up by over €150 since. Will be interesting to see what's instore next year with the takeover by Stenaline :(

Don't forget to get an ACSI card if you're going off season- we only discovered this the last year before our eldest started school.

Yeah, well, child in National school, so can push into Sept a few days, I feel. Other years booked in Jan, or even December, usually for end of August anyway, but always more expensive than this. Will probably go for it, at that price.
Have many on here booked for the Irish Ferries "Dublin-France" service?
