Anyone interested in retro computers, old-skool technology
or the development of information technology industry will
    love "The Computer Chronicles"

Several hundred episodes of this great show are available to view legally
    and free of charge online.

This show was a weekly series covering all aspects of personal computing,
video games, business applications, software development, hardware reviews,
interviews and computer industry news between 1981 to 2002.

This show started at the beginning of the personal computing revolution in
the early 1980s, and detailed the amazing developments in microcomputers,
not only in America but all around the world. Later when the world wide web
came along the show kept pace with new technology and the "information
    super-highway."

Several hundred of the episodes of the show are available for legal streaming
and download from the excellent archive.org website. There are also several
    hundred episodes on youtube.

Hosted by Stewart Cheifet and Gary Kildall this
was a show on PBS in America in the 80s and 90s, that
featured stories and reports from the emerging world
of microcomputers, software and game development.

You can stream or download complete episodes, very interesting to watch
and they even have a news section in each show:
    "Microsoft announces Windows 3.1!"

Some good episodes I have watched include:

    Third-World Software:
A 2 part profile of the start of software outsourcing to India that is now a
part of everyday life. Western companies who ventured to India in the 1980s
soon realized that Indians had more to offer than lower wages.
Now Infosys, Tata, Wipro, HCL and many others are world-leaders in IT services.
You may never heard of any of these companies, but guaranteed you've
    used their systems.

    Asian Clones:
How the Tawianese beat IBM and Dell at their own game.

    Hi-tech France
A two part show about technology systems in France.
This inclueds an extensive feature on the now-defunct
Minitel system, and the ISDN system France rightly
    boasted about years ago. Maqnifique!

    Hi-tech Israel
An interesting profile of technology and innovation
in Israel, a country we could learn a great deal from
when it comes to enterprise and developing ideas into
    products that are world-class. Mazaltov!

The Computer Chronicles are a wealth of information for anyone researching
computing history and culture, or who has an interest in retro technology.

This project to preserve these episodes is a wealth of information
and dodgy haircuts that will delight and entertain for years to come. :)
