Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'd like to know if there is any alternative to Swords from Balbriggan rather than the bus 33/33a. I've googled Bus Eireann's 101, but I'm not too sure about that, can someone please explain where it starts off and if Swords is one of the stops? Also is there any train or school buses that go to Swords from Balbriggan? I'm fed up of returning home at 5.30, when I finish school at 3.35.
I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out, thanks.

The 101 is the direct service between Swords and Balbriggan (it operates from Dublin to Drogheda).

It serves several stops along the Main Street in Balbriggan and operates via the Swords bypass.

    The timetable is here:

Thank you very much! Can you please explain what is meant by Swords bypass?
I need a stop that is the closest to the main street please

I'm not sure how better I can explain Swords By-pass, other than it is the original by-pass of Swords Village. It's the dual carriageway directly east of Swords Village. The bus stops at the junction with the road that leads into the Pavilions and the Village.

Put this into your browser and open with either browser or google maps and it will show exactly where the bus stop is at the turn into the pavillions sc. Zoom out of street view to see it clearly. The other stop is just across the dual carriageway. Be careful ceossing.

There is a footbridge across the dual carriageway.

Thank you very much, this cleared a lot up for me. I just have a few more questions please.
Do I pay on the bus or online?
Would 16 years old be considered an adult and if so how much would it be for a return ticket 5 day a week?
Sorry for all the questions, the website is too confusing for me.

16 years old is an adult fare.

You can buy online at www.buseireann.ie and save 5%, but you can also pay the driver.

If buying online - just go to the big "Buy online & Save" box on the home page and enter in Balbriggan and Swords in the "from" and "to" boxes and follow the instructions from there.

Put your exact locations (school and home) and relevant dates and times into www.a-b.ie and tweak the settings.

You could get a train to Malahide and route 102 to Swords / Feltrim Road / River Valley. Or train to Donabate and route 33b to Swords.

Yes, but if you are in school, you should be able to get students rates, but would likely need a Student Travel Card. Phone them and check what their arrangements for school children over 16 are.

Approximate fares: http://www.busfare.co.uk/eireann.html unfortunately, Swords isn't listed.
    Service 101
    5.50 : Adult Single
    5.50 : Student Single
    4.10 : Child Single
    9.00 : Adult Day Rtn
    5.50 : Child Day Rtn
    10.50 : Adult Rtn
    8.70 : Student Rtn
    6.70 : Child Return
    36.50 : Family Rtn
    37.00 : Adult 10 Jny
    36.00 : Student 10 Jny
    24.50 : Child 10 Jny
