Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I know they have been gone a long time but I still to this day miss the Secret bar. It was just so yummy. No modern chocolate bar has even come close to it.

    Cadburys top deck
    Cadburys nuts about caramel
Spaced invaders (pickled onion corn crisps)
    Is Mr. Freeze still around?
    Cadburys Marble bars

They brought back vice versus but they don't taste the same...

Fun size snickers used to come in a papery wrapper. I'm convinced they tasted better cos they didn't sweat in the plastic.

There was a Cadbury bar that had just little balls of biscuit in the chocolate. Man they were addictive...

    Mars delight

Haven't been able to find small single serving tubs of Ben and Jerrys ice cream anywhere this summer, have had to buy the large tubs instead, problem with those is I just cant stop once I start into one of those :o

Also McCain Southern Fries seem to have disappeared. Replaced everywhere with 'French Fries' which in my opinion are much inferior :(

While I'm not a fan, my GF loves em. Gets them in Tesco and Dunnes Maynooth no problem. All the big Tesco seem to have them, only ever a facing or two so can be hard to spot.

Currently in the middle of a move to Australia and I've only been away from home 2 months and would kill for a pack of king and a can of Club orange! This forum is torture to read!

TEXAN bars, I remember as a small kid being bought one by my dad and the shop keeper saying I wasn't old enough for a Texan bar and shop keeper then suggested a 5 pence pink panther bar (which were also a favourite of mine in the past).

    ppb.jpg
But I stuck with my Texan choice and I left the shop feeling dead impressed with myself and my "mature choice" in confectionary ! but I'd imagine if I had one now they'd probably be horrible.

Barratt's sherbet fountain where the licorice stick was hollow so you could suck up the sherbet (for half a minute before it got blocked).

J.R Icepops were the best ever, followed by fat frogs , I still hanker after a JR , also I have never forgiven HB for changing the taste and size of the loop the loop about 10 yrs ago , they remain second rate still , why the hell do they do this !

I think it was the backlash to artificial colours and flavourings. Certainly the lime part was never as green again once they used natural colourings!!

Loop the Loops are a mere shadow of their former selves unfortunately...

Its that plain little HB tub with the wooden spoon that I miss most of all :(

My Dad worked for Urney which became HB Chocolates. We had millions of Two and Two bars, Catch Bars, Rovals (the Irish Equivalent of Rolos) and Beanos (The irish equivalent of Smarties)

Two and Two and Mint Catch were always my favourites. HB chocolates closed in 1979!!

Hi ballinasloex, we generally ask that people don't bump threads that haven't been posted in for more than 6 months. As there is a very similar, but active, thread running in After Hours right now (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057382563), I'm going to lock this thread.
