Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Heating switch upstairs?

    Hi

Apologies for asking a bit of a random question, but maybe worth a shot!

I've recently moved into a house in Belmayne, Dublin13 which has gas central heating.

I'm experiencing a bit of a problem with the heating (only starting to use it now on some of these evenings), when its turned on, the radiators downstairs heat up ok. However the radiators upstairs are not heating up at all. Initially I thought the radiators might have to be bled, but the property manager informed me (after contacting the owner of the house) that there is a switch to be flicked on, the switch is located in the master bedroom, which I thought was a bit random, as its hidden away (it's not near the boiler or hot press etc, they are in separate locations in the house).

Having flicked on the switch after turning the heating on, it worked the first time, but the problem is, it hasn't worked since, having switched it off and on after the heating was turned on, the radiators still won't come on.

Just wondering has anyone had a similar problem with something like this, or has a similar set up in their house?

The name of the heating control panel (timer, on/off switch etc) is Centaurplus NLC21 (Newlec electrical) if that's any use.

Any tips and advise (before I call in an expert!) is much appreciated.

    Cheers

That switch should be controlling a motorized valve , most likely located in the hotpress . Sounds like the motor is stuck . Have you a thermostat upstairs? Make sure this is turned up. The motorized valve looks like a box stuck to the pipe work on the heating circuit, it should have a manual override on it in the form of an arm that slides across and locks into place.
