Heeey there, was just wondering if anyone knows how to get that sort of sound out of a bass? I read once that the bassist tries to get as much distortion out of his amp without using pedals but I will be damned if I know how to do that. Anyway any comments on good bass pedals and ways to distort it in general are welcome!

ProCo RAT pedals work nicely with bass in my very humble opinion.

Another lovely REALLY distorted growly distorsion for bass is the digitech grunge pedal, Made for guitar i know and it being grunge you wouldnt think it was that aggessive but i stupidly sold it to my freind without checking it out on bass first and now im thinking of actually buying one again.

You should check out Billy Sheehan's ampeg racked preamp if your looking for that dual channel sound, its sweet.
When are Death from above playing Ireland again? They were amazing at oxegen! A little too much topless sweaty, sweaty men in the crowd but great crack none the less!
