Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was just thinking that if I had to remove some foods from my diet (which I do) what foods could I absolutely not live without.

    Mine are:

    black beans
    chick peas
    baked beans
    green vegetables
    tomatoes
    carrots
    green peas
    berries
    bananas
    oranges
    beef
    fish and seafood
    chicken
    potatoes
    avocados
    basmati rice
    100% meat sausages
    bacon
    sesame snaps
    rice crackers
    good homemade loaf of bread
    ice cream
    tea
    honey

    Lemons.

It's more the scent than the taste though. I get high as a kite grating the zest.
I also like to put 9 oranges in a perfect fit of 3 rows of 3 in my square white fruit bowl. The colour and shapes sort of sing -this pleases me way more than the taste too. :o

Ah yes, I remember Easy Singles, that revolting taste and plastic wrapping that stuck to the "cheese". Unforgettable.

When I type Easy Singles into Google now, it comes up with something very different.

Tea would be number one. I drink tons of the stuff and have often said to boyfriend "I'd give up ciggies before I'd quit tea."

Also chicken breasts, curry sauce and wine.

    Oh and crisps.

I did just that 20-something years ago. I had very little money at the time and I remember standing in the store in the tea section wondering if I should spend my last bit of cash for the month on tea or ciggies.

Tea won and I have been smoke free ever since! :)

Onions, garlic, herbs & spices (cumin and loads of it). Olive oil. Spinach. Tomatoes.Eggs. Porridge. Tea.

They're the things I always have in the kitchen and use most days.

I usually roast a chicken once a week for salads/sambos and the likes.

    Chips from the local Chipper.

I try to be a healthy (pretentious) salad wraps with sun dried tomatoes from my local farmers market, person.

But really, I could live happily on Chipper Chips forever.

I feel the same way about the poutine from across the street. I could eat that 3 times a day if I had to.

    I don't.

Few things I definitely couldn't live without:

    Eggs
    Tea
    Chickpeas
    Tomatoes
    Fish

    Strawberries.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,567 ✭✭✭Red Pepper

Apples, I eat around 6 a day. Have had an apple "problem" since I was a kid.
An old farmer once stuck me with a rusty pitch fork when he caught me robbing apples in his orchard. Drew blood etc, I didn't even tell my parents because I just assumed that I was in the wrong! Different times! :D

    Also, red peppers

You can't live your life without tomatoes?

    Methinks you'd survive somehow.

Edit: How could I forget garlic?!? Pretty much everything I cook has garlic in it.

Coffee, tea, milk for both and salt.

I can cut out other foods and not miss them after a few days, but those four I would miss a hell of a lot.
